Every piece we make carries the backbone of Southern work ethic — slow, intentional, and built to last. From hand‑poured candles to cut‑and‑wrapped soaps, we craft with purpose, not speed. You’ll see it in the twine knots, stamped tags, and imperfect edges that prove a human hand made it. That’s our promise —
Our roots run deep in Alabama soil. What began as a small candle operation grew from generations of makers, farmers, and doers who believed in hard work and community. That heritage still guides every piece we create today.
Founder and Creative Director of Chappell Lane Mercantile, Jason built this brand from the ground up — blending Southern grit with creative direction. His background in candle manufacturing and market leadership shaped the Mercantile into a home for makers who share his backbone and vision.
Every item we carry is hand‑selected for craftsmanship, story, and soul. We don’t chase trends — we curate goods that stand the test of time. When you shop here, you’re choosing quality built by real hands, not machines.
We choose materials the same way our grandparents did — simple, honest, and built to hold up. Clean‑burning wax, sturdy cotton wicks, natural fibers, real wood, and paper that feels good in your hands. If it doesn’t meet our standards, it doesn’t make it into the shop.
Everything we make is meant to be used — not just displayed. Candles that burn clean, soaps that last, jewelry that holds up to real days and real work. We build for homes that are lived in, not staged.
We believe craft is stronger when it’s shared. Every product, every market day, every collaboration is rooted in the people who make this place feel like home. That’s why we pour back into our makers, our neighbors, and our community.

Chappell Lane Mercantile was built on Southern backbone — the kind you learn from family, faith, and long days spent making something with your own two hands. What started as a small candle operation grew into a full mercantile and a home for makers across Central Alabama. We believe in honest work, good people, and keeping handcrafted goods alive in a world that moves too fast. This is our corner of the South, and we’re proud to share it with you.

Home to makers, pickers, growers, and creatives who carry the same backbone of Southern work ethic we do. The Collective is our way of lifting each other up — sharing resources, sharing wisdom, and keeping handmade craft alive in Central Alabama. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or just getting started, there’s a place
